USA: Camelback Resort Owners Announce New Hotel and Indoor Waterpark for 2019
Located in the Catskill Mountains in the US state of New York, a new Katrite Hotel & Indoor Waterpark is set to be opened in 2019, as was recently announced by Ken Ellis (CEO Aquatic Development Group) and Arthur Berry III, Co-Owners of Pennsylvania-based Camelback Resort and Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark. The new large-scale project will be developed on a site of nearly 650 hectares (1,600 acres) on the grounds of the Resorts World Catskills, which is currently under development in the town of Thompson.
Besides a total of 324 suites the Kartrite Hotel – named after the fictive character of the Camelback property, world explorer “Kartrite van der Berris” – will offer multiple restaurants, a relaxing spa, a ropes course and an arcade. Covering some 8,000 square meters (two acres), a related indoor waterpark will expand the offer, which will be inspired by the architecture of indoor waterparks in Europe, featuring an unobstructed column-free construction with a barrel-shaped transparent roof and tropical plants throughout the park. New York’s Aquatic Development Group has been contracted to design and build the indoor waterpark at The Kartrite.
“We’re building upon the family-focused thrills and amenities that have made Camelback Resort & Aquatopia a premier destination in the Pocono Mountains. The Kartrite’s location at the Resorts World Catskills property provides a unique opportunity for us to deliver a whole new adventure for guests as part of a true global destination,” said Arthur Berry III.
The opening of The Kartrite will also have a positive economic impact on the region and will create 600 permanent jobs and up to 250 construction jobs. (eap)
