China: Sun Tzu Cultural Park to Open Air Launch Coaster & Double Towers
Based in Guangrao, in the northern Chinese province of Shandong, Sun Tzu Cultural Park has recently announced the opening of two new attractions for the summer of this year: The park, which is thematically linked to Sun Tzu (a historical military general who lived in ancient times), is building up an Air Launch Coaster from US manufacturer S&S Worldwide, the fourth coaster of this type in China. Under the name “Lightning Speed” the attraction will offer a fast-paced ride on a track length of 930 meters.
Furthermore, S&S supplies two towers of its portfolio to the venue, a “Space Shot” (featuring a 4G vertical launch) and a “Turbo Drop” (for beyond-freefall negative G-forces). The towers will feature twelve seats each and will reach a height of some 56 meters (185 feet). Sun Tzu Cultural Park offers more than 30 rides and attractions, ranging from gentle and suitable for children to outrageous rides for thrill-seekers. (eap)
