GB: Peter Rabbit Attraction Comes to Blackpool in 2022
In the British seaside resort and “leisure mekka“ of Blackpool a new stand-alone attraction for families, which will be based on the beloved animation series “Peter Rabbit™“ by Silvergate Media, will open next year and be operated by Merlin Entertainments (Merlin). In five themed areas, visitors will become part of the adventures of Peter and his friends as they “will need to think like a rabbit, move like a rabbit and deploy rabbit-like senses“, according to Merlin, in order to complete the challenges presented to guests. Meet and greets with Peter Rabbit will ne part of the experience as well.
The Peter Rabbit experience, which will be located right next to Blackpool’s Madame Tussauds, was developed in the past 18 months by Merlin, Silvergate and Penguin Ventures, on behalf of Peter Rabbit brand owners Frederick Warner & Co. A total of around one million pounds (approx. 1.19 million Euro) is being invested in the new Peter Rabbit attraction.
Kate Shane, Regional Director for Merlin Entertainments, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming such an icon to Blackpool! Peter Rabbit is a well-loved household name for young and old and is globally renowned. We are delighted that this new attraction concept will be created here in Blackpool first. We firmly support Blackpool’s overall ambition to be the UK’s number one family seaside resort and with such a family-favourite brand joining our Blackpool Cluster of attractions we can’t wait to ‘hop’ to it and get the experience open next year.” The Peter Rabbit experience will be the seventh Merlin-operated attraction in Blackpool.
