Canada: Waterplay Realigns Its Brands and Products under Newly Formed MAKR Group
In order to continue its growth in the global market for aquatic play equipment, the Kelowna/British Columbia-based company Waterplay® Solutions Corp. realigns its brand and products alongside the newly formed MAKR Group. This is the parent company to Waterplay, as well as Parkworks, a company that designs parks in public spaces, and Wekid Mfg, a company specializing in stainless steel products. With a total of more than 100 employees in the areas of consulting, design, product development, steel production, logistics, engineering and business services, the group aims to pool its expertise in the different industry segments to offer a particularly competent service in the aquatic play market.
“When I was first introduced to Waterplay in 2004 I was attracted to the honest, down-to-earth, human element of it,” says MAKR Group President Jill White. “Here was a lovely Canadian couple who started a company with the focus of making communities better. And, as luck would have it, they were looking to pass the company on. That’s what has driven our new branding all these years later, the idea that people matter, that human connections matter. That joy and happiness are both purposeful missions in life and that our group of companies can achieve that with people we connect with everyday.” Since its founding in 1987, Waterplay has implemented thousands of splash pad projects on a total of six continents.
