UAE: Yas Island and Its Amusement Parks to Be Experienced in Metaverse Starting 2023
The organizations and companies DCT Abu Dhabi, Aldar, Miral, twofour54, Abu Dhabi Motorsport, Flash Entertainment and Yas Island are collaborating on a “Yas Island Metaverse“ to be completed in 2023 and to transfer the island and its attractions to the digital world. The Metaverse will allow users around the world to experience the destination and its attractions virtually. Yas Island is one of Abu Dhabi‘s largest islands after the main island, and is home to residential complexes, numerous hotels, the motor racing circuit Yas Marina Circuit and a number of theme parks. These include Warner Bros. Movie World, Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World, and scheduled for an opening in 2023, Sea World AbuDhabi. In the Metaverse, guests will be able to create custom avatars, buy a digital home on the island, and of course experience the attractions such as the theme parks, special events, golf courses, and motor racing.
“Innovation is central to DCT Abu Dhabi’s commitment to be at the forefront of what is possible. With the Yas Island metaverse, we are inviting the world to experience the excitement of Abu Dhabi’s incredible leisure and entertainment destination – virtually – like never before. As the emirate’s offerings evolve, this project provides a new and compelling perspective which allows the world to discover Abu Dhabi in their own time and space. The innovative, interactive platform is perfect for highlighting the exceptional lifestyle, cultural and entertainment experience that Abu Dhabi presents to all visitors and will give both virtual residents and travellers the power to curate their own unique Abu Dhabi itinerary – within a whole new sphere of reality,“ announces Secretary of State from DCT Abu Dhabi, S.E. Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani. (eap)
