China: Next New Slide Wheel Opens in China at Linkspring Fun World Water Park

The Linkspring Fun World water park in the Chinese city of Nantong (Jiangsu province) is the location of the world’s third Slide Wheel installation by German manufacturer Wiegand.Waterrides, following the Slide Wheel projects at Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou (also China; cf. EAP 4/2018) and Aquapark Reda in Poland (cf. EAP 6/2019). Again, the attraction was set up in cooperation with Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, also based in Germany. The approx. 215-metre-long Slide Wheel and Big River at Linkspring Fun World was officially inaugurated a few days ago: It invites guests sitting in a raft to slide through the wheel, completing several revolutions in it before entering the Big River tube with a diameter of 2.70 metres and heading towards the exit pool. In the dark, the Slide Wheel installation is set in scene with an elaborate light installation (by the Swiss company of Lichtstark).

After the Slide Wheel developed by the German water slide manufacturer has already been realised twice in China and once in Poland by Wiegand.Waterrides, WhiteWater West, who acquired the worldwide exclusive rights to this innovative product in 2019, is currently building a Slide Wheel in the Mount Olympus water park in Wisconsin Dells (USA). This ride is also scheduled to be completed and opened this year.

For Linkspring Fun World, Wiegand also supplied a themed stainless-steel water playground, including a wide wave slide and a blue painted stainless-steel tube slide. (eap)
