Germany: Europa-Park Now Easy to Reach by Train

After many years of bureaucratic effort, Germany’s Europa-Park now finally welcomed its first visitors who arrived by train at the Ringsheim train station. Two times a day, the EuroCityExpress from Frankfurt to Milan now makes a stop here, connecting the city to the German long-distance railway system and creating an alternative travel opportunity to visit the Europa-Park, which has opened its gates to visitors again on May 21st as a model business for safe operations (cf. EAP news f. 21 May 2021).

Roland Mack, owner of Europa-Park, welcomed the first family at the platform personally: “A better train connection for the Europa-Park is a first grade sustainability project, for which we had to fight for numerous years. That‘s why I am so happy that we can finally welcome the first families here today. The renaming of the train station to ‘Ringsheim/Europa-Park‘ will follow soon.“

Thorsten Krenz from the Deutsche Bahn Group for the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, commented: “I am very delighted to welcome the first long-distance train in Ringsheim for travellers to the Europa-Park. From now on we are able to provide the many visitors with a environmentally friendly and fast travel alternative to their own cars.“

Pascal Weber, mayor of Ringsheim, added: “[…] Our tourism in Ringsheim, Rust and the region will be strengthened. At the same time, the train station in Ringsheim better establishes itself so that hopefully short- and long-dinstance trains will add more stopps here in the future. (eap)
