UAE: First National Geographic Ultimate Explorer FEC in Middle East Opens in Abu Dhabi

Today marks the grand opening of a new National Geographic Ultimate Explorer Family Entertainment Center (FEC) at The Galleria Al Maryah Island shopping mall in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – as an addition to the existing leisure offer. With a family-friendly and educative approach, these edutainment centers and their attractions aim at inspiring young guests in particular to playfully engage with our planet and its inhabitants in order to one day contribute to its protection themselves. The new attraction is the first facility of this concept in the Middle East & North Africa region.

Located on the second level of the 400-store-shopping destination, the family entertainment center includes seven attractions, a retail boutique, dining options and private rooms that can be rented for events such as children’s birthday parties. The main attractions include “Space Jump”, “Terra Studio” and “Wild River Recon”. This FEC is based on a collaboration between the three companies National Geographic, IP2Operations Ltd. and Spacetoon, with IP2Operations handling the operation and management of the facility. Spacetoon is a media company founded in Dubai in 2000, specializing in animation and children’s programming on Arabic television. (eap)
