USA: SeaWorld Takeover Offer Lets Cedar Fair Share Value Rise
Cedar Fair, the Sandusky, Ohio-based operator group, has announced that it has received an unsolicited, non-binding takeover offer from SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. Together with legal and financial advisors, the Cedar Fair board of directors will now review this offer. The news was also reflected in Cedar Fair Entertainment Company‘s share value, which was up 13.11 percent at the close of the New York Stock Exchange, yesterday.
With a takeover, a total of 13 leisure and water parks would be incorporated into SeaWorld‘s park portfolio. Six Flags had also made an offer to the regional operator group in 2019, but it was rejected a few days later (see EAP news of 8 Oct 2019). (eap)
