Korea: LEGOLAND Korea Resort Celebrates Completion – Official Opening on May 5
As announced last fall, LEGOLAND® Korea Resort will open on 5 May this year. The completion of the tenth LEGOLAND resort was celebrated with the official handover of keys to the operations team – Ray Dubois, Group Development Director for LEGOLAND Resorts at Merlin Entertainments, presented a key made of yellow Lego bricks to Young Pil Kim, Divisional Director of the Korean LEGO destination. “As we gear up towards the official grand opening of LEGOLAND Korea Resort, it brings me immense joy to host today’s Key Handover Ceremony and to meet in person everyone who has helped us in this endeavor as well as share our hopes and expectations for the future,“ said Merlin CEO Nick Varney.
To celebrate, selected families and children have already been allowed to test the first rides of the Lego park, which was created on the Jungdo River Island of the Bukhangang River in Chuncheon City. With Brick Street, Bricktopia, LEGO® Castle, LEGO® NINJAGO® World, Pirates Shore, LEGO® City and MINILAND, visitors can look forward to seven themed areas that are primarily aimed at children between the ages of two and twelve.
Lotte World Adventure Busan is another new theme park opening tomorrow in South Korea (see EAP news of 2 Mar 2022). (eap)
