Panorama Park Sauerland Presents New Main Attractions
(eap) Germany’s Panorama Park Sauerland has unveiled several new features at the start of the season, including two new main attractions that are due to open in the course of this year. One of these is “Ramas Rutsch-Riese” (Rama’s Slide Giant), a 32-metre-high adventure slide tower with twelve dry slides. These include a 21-metre-high free-fall slide, the world’s first bob-run slide (according to the park), a 1440-degree helix spiral slide as well as child-friendly slides for ages three and up. In addition, two panorama platforms with glass railings will offer views over the Sauerland region and for the brave there will be a free-hanging net above the alpaca enclosure. The contract for this new attraction was signed with stainless steel slide manufacturer atlantics at the last IAAPA Expo Europe in Amsterdam (see EAP 6/2024). Yesterday, the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony took place in the emu and alpaca enclosure. The opening is planned for late summer 2025.
Visitors will be able to experience the park’s first children-only roller coaster at the end of May for the first time. With the “Katta-Kutter Panorama”, the park will open a roller coaster prototype of the “KidsBlitz” product from Inno-Heege. The family-friendly attraction is aimed at children aged three to twelve (max. 40 kilograms) and is powered by the muscle power of the accompanying supervisor via a bicycle system. “We are delighted that the good cooperation with Panorama Park is being continued with our brand new ‘KidsBlitz’ product. It makes us proud to be able to deliver a product on which even the smallest park visitors can gain their first roller coaster experience,” explains Lukas Martini, Managing Director of Inno-Heege.
Together with the mini roller coaster, the first issue of “Panos Abenteuer” (Pano’s Adventures) will be published, a comic series designed to tell stories about the park in a fun way for children and provide knowledge about the wildlife park and its animal inhabitants. Panorama Park is also investing in further innovations and modernization measures such as a new birthday room with indoor play area, parents’ lounge and modernized toilet facilities with changing and breastfeeding area, new coin-operated attractions (“Panos Baustelle” (Pano’s Construction Site) with excavator and crane, three bumper scooters and a second boat installation dubbed “Capitain Pano”) as well as five new barbecue arbours. In March 2025, a new PV system was also put into operation, enabling self-sufficient operation during the season. Meanwhile, test weeks are taking place in the restaurant, during which various recipes are being tested to adapt the long-term orientation of the restaurant to the wishes of the guests. ■
