Sweden: Magnus Widell to Leave Gröna Lund
As Swedish operator group Parks and Resorts Scandinavia announced yesterday, Magnus Widell, CEO of Stockholm’s Gröna Lund since 2013, will pass on the management of the Tivoli park in September.
After almost a decade at the helm of the park, Widell now wants to take on new challenges. “I have had a great time in my ten years at Gröna Lund, and so it is with mixed feelings that I now leave the company. But I am very proud of what we have achieved together, and I look forward to following Gröna Lund on its continued journey, from the new Winter Wonderland season to what I hope will be a brand-new amusement park area on the current parking lot,” says Magnus Widell.
“With his clear and warm way of leading, Magnus has brought Gröna Lund to where it is today. But he is not only a CEO leaving us, he is also a good friend. I am happy for those who will work with him in the future. He is solid as a rock,” comments Christer Fogelmarck, CEO of Parks and Resorts Scandinavia.
Magnus Widell will continue to lead the park over the summer period and hand over his position to the management team for the time being until a new CEO will have been announced. (eap)
