Germany: Freizeit-Land Geiselwind under New Flag
Since January 1st, 2017 – or rather with the beginning of the season on April 8th – Germany’s Freizeit-Land Geiselwind amusement park runs under a new owner’s flag. At the beginning of this year, the Showman Matthias Mölter from the German city of Coburg has taken over the Freizeit-Land Geiselwind. The sale of the amusement park, which is located between Nuremberg and Würzburg in Bavaria, has been sealed a few weeks ago.
Founded in 1969 by Ernst Mensinger as a “bird-pony-fairytale” attraction, the park saw a splendid development following the opening. At the end of the 1980’s, Michael Mensinger and his family opened the first rides at the park. By purchasing Geiselwind, Showman Matthias Mölter seeks not only to settle down but to fulfill himself a lifelong dream. Learn more about Mölter’s ideas and how he aims at achieving a significant increase in attendance figures in the first year of operation in our upcoming EAP issue. (eap)
