Sweden: Final Plans for Liseberg Waterpark
Soon, the expansion plans of Gothenburg’s Liseberg amusement park could be put into practice. For some time now, the park has been seeking to extend its offer for visitors by building a waterpark and a hotel. The projects are on a good way – Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg Group, informed EAP that he expects Gothenburg municipality to grant the final building permit within the next two or three months.
The waterpark, which is scheduled to open in 2021, will offer its guests adventure pools, slides and splash areas and will have a capacity of 2,800 visitors at the same time. The hotel will feature 453 rooms and a total of 2,100 beds as well as a restaurant, a spa and conference rooms. (eap)
