UK: Frontgrid and Simworx Announce Brand-New VR Attraction
British Frontgrid company, founded by the two entrepreneurs David Wood (Chairman) and Matt Wells (CEO), will present their newly developed ParadropVRTM Virtual Reality (VR) experience, which has been created in cooperation with Simworx – a leading specialist for motion-based platforms –, at this year’s Euro Attractions Show (EAS) taking place in Berlin/Germany. This brand-new attraction is an IP-protected, immersive VR experience featuring integrated gamification, which allows the user to fully control the game play and movement. ParadropVRTM simulates a paraglider flight with up and down motion, including sudden drops and smooth deceleration in order to create a realistic feeling of gliding through the skies. During the flight “back down to earth” the riders also fly through a series of targets to collect points.
The attraction will be offered in different modules, ranging from a line or double-line design to a circular layout with varying capacity. Standard configurations will be four to twelve rider units in line or double-line and six to 20 rider units in a circular layout, reaching a high hourly capacity. The paragliding experience lasts around two minutes, other themings and designs are also possible. A patent for ParadropVRTM is pending. (eap)
