China: New “Beautiful Hunan“ Flying Theater Attraction in Changsha Now Open
A few weeks ago, the new “Beautiful Hunan” flying theater attraction (commissioned by Macrolink Group) at Tongguan Kiln International Cultural and Tourism Center in Changsha started its operation, offering riders a six-minute flight above the scenic and cultural highlights of the Hunan region (cf. EAP news from February 6th, 2018). The attraction was supplied by CAVU Designwerks, the Canadian specialist for media-based attractions. For the AV elements and the screen, the company worked together with Austria’s Kraftwerk Living Technologies, the US company of Prana Studios provided the computer animation and visual effects.
The Tongguan Kiln International Cultural and Tourism Center is set to become a huge leisure complex covering a total area of some 1.1 million square meters. It features eight museums, three luxury hotels, 18 so-called “cultural attractions” (including the flying theater) and four children amusement parks, amongst other venues. The destination aims at attracting over five million tourists per year. (eap)
