USA: “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser“ – The New Immersive Overnight Experience Coming to Walt Disney World Resort

2021 will see the opening of the new immersive “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser“ overnight experience at Walt Disney World Resort‘s Disney’s Hollywood Studios park, located in Orlando/Florida. For the time of two days and two nights visitors will be immersed into their own “Star Wars“ story. After arriving at the starcruiser terminal, visitors will be guided to the launch pod, where a take-off simulation will start to create the feeling of traveling through space to the “Halcyon“ starcruiser, on which guest will stay in cabins for up to five persons. Every cabin will feature a digital window, enabling guests a panoramic view out into space.

During their imagined stay in space, visitors will have the opportunity for several activities such as laser sword lessons and a visit on the space ship’s control bridge. Additionally, the stay includes an excursion to the “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge“ theme area, which was opened in autumn 2019 (cf. EAP news of 29 Sep 2019) and was designed as the planet Batuu known from the Star Wars movies.

“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a completely new type of experience. You’re going to live onboard a star cruiser … and you can get wrapped up in the larger Star Wars story,“ comments Ann Morrow Johnson, executive producer for Walt Disney Imagineering. (eap)
