USA: OWA Envisages Opening of Indoor Water Park in 2022

Located in the US state of Alabama, the OWA leisure & entertainment destination, so far consisting of an amusement park, shopping and dining facilities as well as a recently opened eSports center (cf. EAP news of 9 Aug 2019) is ready for its next expansion phase! Spring 2022 will see the addition of a covered water park, with which the destination will live up to its name (Owa = “big water” in the indigenous language of the Creek Indians). Furthermore, there will be a wave pool and a Flow Rider in the outdoor area, as well as a luxury RV park. While the structure, which will feature a retractable roof, will be supplied by Canadian company OpenAire, ProSlide, also from Canada, will provide the waterslides, OWA Marketing and PR Director Kristin Hellmich told EAP.

Further details about the expansion project, which runs at a total investment volume of 84 million US dollars (around 70 million euros), will be announced in the coming weeks. (eap)
