“Pirate’s Island” Adventure Minigolf near Hamburg
(eap) The Gut Waldhof golf club in Kisdorferwohld, just under an hour’s drive north of Hamburg, has opened an adventure minigolf course with a pirate theme. On an area of around 3,000 square meters, a total of 18 hole stations were installed and themed by City Golf Europe, featuring elements such as skulls, hippos and octopuses as well as a compass. One station along the “Pirate’s Island” outdoor course was staged as a pirate ship in an indoor area to make the minigolf balls fluoresce with black light. Another station includes a short raft trip.
All courses are covered with artificial turf, and there’s always the option of mastering the respective obstacle with a precise shot or skillfully manoeuvring the ball alongside. Groups of up to six players can start every ten minutes, so that a total capacity of over 300 people can be reached each day. Tickets can be booked in advance via the online store for specific time slots. The operators of the golf club, Martin and Iryna Thater, have invested around 750,000 euros in the new family offer. ■
