† Al Weber, Jr., Passes Away
Al Weber, Jr.
The leisure industry mourns the death of its colleague and friend Al Weber, IAAPA Board member and CEO/President of Apex Park Group, who suddenly passed away this week.
“We have lost a visionary, an advocate and a friend. Al was the embodiement of everything that is great about this business and his impact on our industry will live on for generations to come. On behalf of IAAPA, our Board of Directors, staff and membership, we send our deepest condolences to Al’s wife Bonnie, Al’s family, his industry friends and especially his colleagues at Apex Parks Group,” said IAAPA President and CEO Paul Noland.
From 2004 until 2006, Weber served as President and CEO at Paramount Park chain, four years later he became Interim President and CEO at Six Flags, where after four months he was designated Chief Operating Officer. From 2014 until his death Weber was President and CEO at Californian Apex Parks Group. Our sympathies are with his family, friends and colleagues. (eap)
