Sad news reached us from Italy today: Renzo Martini, founder of the manufacturing company Mel Park (today: Technical Park), passed away on Saturday at the age of 79 after a long illness. Martini was a leading entrepreneur in the Italian leisure and attractions industry and one of the founding members of the national industry association Ancasvi. He developed Mel Park, today known under its new name of Technical Park, to an internationally leading supplier for amusement rides and attractions. Even after his retirement he paid regular visits to the company to maintain his close contact with the employees. Also beyond his work in the leisure industry, Martini showed great commitment and ingenuity for societal projects and founded a local football team, the Unione Sportiva Calcio Melara.
