(eap) Since summer 2016, there has been a particularly exciting attraction on the roof of the A’DAM Tower in Amsterdam: Over the Edge, two swings, each with two adjacent seats, are available there to swing guests through the air at a height of almost one hundred meters – and over the edge of the building – while offering a spectacular view of Amsterdam. This adrenaline-pumping experience alone is sure to create lasting memories – but from now on, those who wish can also receive personal 360-degree content to view and share with family/friends and on social networks.

The 360-degree recording technology from German provider CaptiVR (about which you can learn more in the section of Technology News in EAP 6/2022) was integrated into the photo platform installed on the A’DAM Tower by Dutch company GoPhoto. Several omni-directional cameras are being used to capture the experience in a 360-degree perspective so that, after swinging over Amsterdam, guests can purchase their very personal souvenir video. Professionals from the leisure and attractions industry will also soon have the opportunity to try out the Over the Edge swings and other exciting attractions in Amsterdam – the European industry will come together for IAAPA Expo Europe in the Dutch capital at the end of September this year. ■
