A Horse for England
Tentatively scheduled to start in 2012, passengers traveling via Eurostar along the historic route from Paris or Brussels to England will see an astonishing sight: A 50 meter-tall white horse will then be erected as a part of the residential development project “Ebbsfleet Landmark” in the county of Kent, southeast of London. The massive sculpture was designed by British artist Mark Wallinger and even surpasses the Statue of Liberty in New York with a height of 46.05 metres. 2.2 million Euros are to be invested in this work of art, supported by the Eurostar construction enterprise. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2010. (eap)
