Anniversary: Austrian AV Specialist Kraftwerk Celebrates 30 Years in Business
Kraftwerk Living Technologies, a global specialist in integrated media technology solutions and media-based attractions headquartered in Wels, Upper Austria, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this month. Founded in 1992, the company, which also has locations in Shanghai, Dubai and Johannesburg and employs approx. 130 people in its global network, is particularly known for its audiovisual solutions within the international leisure and entertainment industry. While the provider initially concentrated on local projects in the field of event and media technology in its early beginnings, the now globally active company has, according to its own statement, been focusing on large-scale fixed installations in the areas of entertainment, industry & science and museums & exhibitions for several years now.
Among the most recent successful projects of the company is the Saudi Arabia Pavilion equipped for Expo 2020 in Dubai, which ended in March of this year. Under the motto “Window on the Future”, unique, state-of-the-art multimedia technologies from Kraftwerk contributed to a breathtaking visitor experience here (read also our report on the World Expo and its future-visionary approach in EAP 2/2022). Kraftwerk was handed over an Inavation Award in the “Visitor Attraction” category for its pavilion design. In addition, as a technical partner of Jora Vision, the company was also involved in equipping and implementing the QUAKE – Lisbon Earthquake Experience visitor attraction, which opened in Portugal’s capital in spring 2022 and impressively showcases the Lisbon earthquake of 1755 for guests as part of a multimedia exhibition. The project has been announced as the winner of a “Thea Award” from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), which will be presented in April 2023. Furthermore, the company around the managing partners Manfred Meier (CEO) and Christian Hofer (CTO) is proud to announce that their Senior VP Sales & Business Development, Kevin Murphy, has been honored with a “Peter Chernack Distinguished Service Award” by the TEA for his long-time commitment within the international association.
