AquaMagis Indoor Pool Changes Investments Planning Due to Corona Crisis – New “Kamikaze Slide“ Will Be Postponed
Here too, at the AquaMagis indoor pool in Plettenberg, Germany, operations are standing still – and unfortunately not without any consequences. Due to the current restrictions for pool facilities by the German government (status today) pools are not allowed to open to the public until at least August 31st 2020. Two thirds of AquaMagis‘ full year income of around six million euros are generated during the Easter, summer and Pentecost vacations and other public holidays in May and June, which are now completely lost by the forced closure.
Due to this financial loss, the leisure indoor pool has now decided to postpone the planned installation of a new slide, which was supposed to be build in the outdoor area. The new bodyslide type “Kamikaze/Free Fall“ by Swiss manufacturer Klarer, which was planned to open in 2021, will provide guests with an adrenalin infused slide experience by an 50 degree angle and a twelve metre long slope. “After a respite and financial break, we will of course make investments again. What and when exactly will be decided in the relevant committees, but not before 2021 at the earliest,“ comments Dr. Uwe Allmann, general manager of AquaMagis. (eap)
