Austria: Asia Spa Leoben Opens New “Erzberg Mining Gallery“ Sauna Facility
Austria’s Asia Spa Leoben opened a new “Erzberg Mining Gallery” (G.: “Erzberg Stollen”) theme sauna last week – for this new wellness offering, the bath’s former Finnish indoor sauna has been completely renovated. Guests can now enjoy an atmosphere shaped by rough rock optics. Another theming element of the new sauna facility is a Polish tunnel entrance. The mining theme chosen for the redesign of the sauna differs from the Far Eastern design of the whole bathing complex in order to establish a clear reference to the region.
The converted sauna offers a seating capacity for up to 40 people and complements the wide range of facilities in the sauna landscape – from herbal saunas to infrared cabins –, which is used by around 47,000 sauna guests per year.
Furthermore, Asia Spa Leoben, which is operated by the GMF group, has also recently invested into other areas of its bathing landscape: A climbing wall has been added to the sports pool, the relaxation rooms in the gallery have been extended. In addition, a 40-metre long barefoot path was opened this autumn.
The Asia Spa Leoben, which has been in operation for ten years, welcomes around 220,000 visitors annually. (eap)
