Austria: First Wind·O·Bona Facility Open to Guests
Since this month Austria’s Skydiver GmbH, operator of indoor skydiving centers, makes the dream of flying come true by opening its first Wind·O·Bona wind channel in Vienna. The tunnel, which is located in a separate building at the Prater side, offers both beginners and experienced skydivers the opportunity to simulate a free fall at wind speeds of up to 280 kilometers per hour which can be compared to a skydive from a height of 4,000 meters. For this purpose, a ventilator blows wind from the bottom to the top of the 15 meters tall vertical wind channel that offers space for up to eight persons. Skydivers have to be at least eight years old. The free fall simulation does not only serve as leisure activity but also as a training ground for sports pilots and professional skydivers. Moreover, specially developed training courses can be booked. The company already announced that further Wind·O·Bona facilities are scheduled to open next year. They will be located in several cities across Europe (e.g. Berlin, Madrid, London, Paris) as well as in Asia (Shanghai, Hong Kong). EAP will keep you informed about further Wind·O·Bona news. (eap)
