Bobbejaanland: Dino Experience, Revolution 2.0 & Dive Show
(eap) The dinosaurs are on the loose at the Belgian theme park Bobbejaanland: until June 30, visitors can go in search of more than 30 dinosaurs in an indoor arena together with “Ranger Tom”. These are animatronic figures that the park has borrowed from the “World of Dinos” traveling exhibition for the duration of the experience in Bobbejaanland. Furthermore, the iconic indoor coaster “Revolution” (Vekoma) is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. To mark its “birthday”, the queue line and lighting effects of the ride as well as the roller coaster train itself were renewed. The park emphasizes that the nostalgic character of the coaster has been retained. For example, the carriages were repainted in the original colours.
The park, which is operated by Parques Reunidos, also has something new to offer on the show front this year. From June 30 to September 1, there will be a 20-minute diving show three times a day. “This is the first time that Bobbejaanland has organized a show where both the stage and the grandstand are built on the water,” explains Peggy Verelst, commercial and creative director of the park. “So the setting will be truly unique. A diving show is also new for the park. Five professional divers will not be diving in a pool, but directly in our beautiful pond. That is something very special. The story is new and the setting is tailor-made. We are very excited and hopefully our guests are, too!” ■
