Carnival Cruise Line Reveals First Details on Celebration Key
Image: Courtesy of Carnival Cruise Line (eap) The American shipping company Carnival Cruise Lines recently announced details about its new exclusive vacation destination “Celebration Key™” on the island of Grand Bahama (Caribbean). Celebration Key will include five areas (portals) that promise fun and recreation for young and old alike. The adjacent cruise pier will be able to accommodate up to two of the cruise line’s largest ships simultaneously.
From there, guests will enter the first area: the “Welcome Portal”, where visitors will be greeted with live music and provided with information about their stay. Furthermore, there will be the “Family-Friendly Portal”, which – as the name suggests – will focus on families. In addition to a beach section, a large freshwater lagoon, a splash pad, water slides, sports courts and much more will invite visitors to splash around and play.
Adults will also get their money’s worth. In the “Adult-Friendly Portal”, they will find a swim-up bar and various dining options that also offer local specialties. The “Private Club Portal” is a retreat for adults only. Here, visitors will find an infinity pool and private access to an upscale dining offer, among other things. There will be further restaurants alongside various retail offerings in the “Retail Portal”. Guests will be able to purchase local Bahamian handicrafts here.
“No one does FUN like Carnival and we are designing Celebration Key, and its five portals, with endless ways for our guests to unlock their own kind of fun in this incredible paradise that also celebrates the beauty of Grand Bahama,” says Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Celebration Key is uniquely positioned to bring an island experience to our diverse range of guests, in a way that lets them choose their slice of ‘paradise’.”
Celebration Key is scheduled to open in summer 2025. Further details on the individual areas are to follow in the coming weeks. But, it has already been announced that there are plans for future expansion, including a zipline course and a water park. ■
