Cedar Fair and Six Flags Announce Merged Management Team
(eap) US-based Cedar Fair and Six Flags Entertainment Corporation today announced the senior management team that will lead the new company following the completion of the previously announced merger of the two publicly traded companies. Richard Zimmerman, President and CEO of Cedar Fair, will also serve as President and CEO of the new company, while Selim Bassoul, President and CEO of Six Flags, will be the new Executive Chairman of the merged company’s Board of Directors. The new Board of Directors will also include the following executives that will report to Zimmerman: Tim Fisher as Chief Operating Officer, Brian Witherow in the position of Chief Financial Officer, Brian Nurse as Chief Legal & Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary, and Christian Dieckmann as Chief Strategy Officer as well as Gary Mick in the role of Chief Integration Officer. While Mick currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Six Flags, all others are currently already working in the same roles at Cedar Fair.

The merger is expected to close on July 1, 2024. Upon completion of the transaction, the combined company will operate under the name “Six Flags Entertainment Corporation” and will be headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with significant financial and administrative activities conducted in Sandusky, Ohio. ■
