(eap) The coming new Center Parcs Nordborg holiday park on the Danish island of Als is set to open its doors to guests for the first time on 20 June this year. This first location of Center Parcs in Scandinavia will offer a comprehensive range of leisure activities, as is customary for the brand. In addition to the “Market Dome”, the centrepiece will be the well-known tropically designed Aqua Mundo water world.

“We are very pleased to confirm the official opening date on 20 June 2025 and that everything has gone according to plan. And we are especially looking forward to welcoming guests from home and abroad to our new resort, which we are very proud of,” says Per Egebæk from the Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation, one of the investors behind the holiday park development.

Center Parcs Nordborg, located directly on the coast and surrounded by forests, will offer shopping, cafés and restaurants as well as activities such as mini golf and bowling in the Market Dome. In the Aqua Mundo water world, guests will be able to enjoy several water slides, a wild river and a separate children’s play area. Partners for the attractions are the German companies Aquarena and wiegand.waterrides. There will also be an outdoor centre with laser tag and archery, an interactive farm with animal encounters, electric jeeps for children and boating opportunities. Thanks to the holiday park’s location directly on the coast, holidaymakers will also be able to swim in the sea – a 140-metre-long pier, which is set to become the longest in Denmark, will lead directly into the Little Belt.

Center Parcs Nordborg Resort expects around 450,000 overnight stays and 25,000 day visitors per year. This will not only revitalize tourism in the region in the future, but will also make a significant contribution to economic development on Als and in the surrounding area. “With this ambitious project, which aims to bring people closer to nature – with a clear focus on high quality, sustainability and strong local roots – we are now opening a new chapter. I am delighted to see that we are not only attracting guests from Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, but also from the Nordic countries who want to experience the unique nature, gastronomy and culture,” explains Franciscus Daemen, Managing Director of Center Parcs Germany. The summer months of July and August are in high demand in terms of advance bookings, and demand is also high for periods outside the peak season, the group states.

With its first holiday park in Scandinavia, the Center Parcs brand, which is part of Groupe Pierre et Vacances, is also aiming for a “DGNB Gold” certification for sustainable construction – an aspect that played a central role in the planning and realization of the destination.
