Center Parcs UK up for Sale
(eap) Center Parcs UK, which have been owned by Canadian asset management company Brookfield since 2015, are up for sale. Specifically, the sale involves the total of the six existing holiday park facilities, five of which are located in the United Kingdom and one in Ireland.
Brookfield had acquired the chain, which forms a separate entity independent of Center Parcs Europe (owned by Blackstone Group), from its former owner Blackstone for a transaction value of some 2.4 billion pounds (approx. 2.8 billion euros at today’s exchange rate) and integrated it into its portfolio. According to the Financial Times business magazine, Brookfield is now looking to raise between four and five billion pounds from the sale of Center Parcs UK, which have been steadily developed over the years.
The economic development of Center Parcs UK resorts continues in a positive way, but Brookfield has decided to take the step of selling due to the rising costs for mortgage and the general development of the economic situation, as reported by the British BBC, among others. ■
