China: Evergrande Ocean Flower Water Park on Hainan Island Starts into Soft Opening Phase
The brand-new Ocean Flower Water Park, developed by the Evergrande Group on China’s holiday and leisure island of Hainan as part of a comprehensive large-scale project including residential properties, retail offers, a marine and a theme park (cf. EAP 1/2019), is now in soft opening.
The water park features six complexes that house a total of 15 water slides from the Canadian manufacturer ProSlide. Among them is a 359-meter-long RocketBLAST® water coaster with eight boost sections, in which sliders sitting in four-person-rafts are accelerated by water jet propulsion. This is the first installation of this attraction type in China. Another “first” in the country is the six-person TornadoWAVE® slide.
