Construction Start for the Expansion of Swarovski Kristallwelten
As we previously reported in EAP issue 2/2013, Swarovski Kristallwelten in Watten, Austria is expanding with new areas. The facility’s previous total space of 3.5 hectares will now be expanded to 7.5 hectares at a total investment price tag of 34 million Euros. Construction began this past October for the expansion of the visitor center. The new areas are set to open in the early summer of 2015, commemorating the 120th anniversary of the Swarovski brand. The focus of the expansion is on creating a spacious crystalline park landscape, the expansion of features for families and kids, new culinary experiences and the redesign of the reception building and the shopping area. And new Chambers of Wonder will expand the Giant, the true icon at Swarovski Kristallwelten. (eap)
