Denmark: Dinosaurs Have Come to Djurs Sommerland – New “Dinosaurland“ Theme Area Now Open

With “Dinosaurland“, Danish theme park Djurs Sommerland, has recently opened its new theme area, which is a must-visit for dinosaur fans. Besides the “T-Rex Family Coaster“ by Mack Rides, the area offers visitors the new “Dino Xpedition“ by Metallbau Emmeln as well as the large “ Dinosaurlegepladsen“ playground (Acacia-Robinia Nederland). Additional 25 life-sized dino replicas by Texas-based Billings Productions amaze the visitors. Djurs Sommerland has invested not less than 14 million Euros into the development of the new theme area, which marks the largest single investment in the park’s history. For the themed design the park cooperated with the Dutch Leisure Expert Group, and Petro Art Production was commissioned with the rock work.

Henrik B. Nielsen, CEO of Djurs Sommerland, is excited about the new area: “By opening the new Dinosaurland, we give families with children of all ages an even wider selection of rides which they can enjoy together. In recent years, we have also experienced a major increase in the number of visitors, so we want to expand capacity by opening a new themed area. Despite the covid pandemic season 2021 was record-breaking. More than 821.000 guests visited Djurs Sommerland during 2021 and the former attendance record from 2018 was exceeded with more than 5.000 guests.“ (eap)
