Denmark: New Tivoli Hotel to Open in Copenhagen in 2016
Opened in 2010 and operated by the Arp-Hansen Group, Copenhagen’s Tivoli & Congress Center, which has welcomed a million guests since its opening, will be complemented by the addition of a second Tivoli Hotel scheduled to be completed in 2016. The Arp-Hansen Group and the Tivoli want to continue their strategic partnership and build a business hotel with 288 rooms for an investment volume of hundreds of millions of kroner to be an integral part of the existing Tivoli Hotel. When the new hotel located on Kalvebod Brygge is completed, the whole Tivoli hotel complex at the waterfront will offer a total capacity of 700 rooms, plus meeting facilities accommodating 6,000 guests. “It makes perfect sense to continue our collaboration with the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group, who is able to create unique hotels in central locations in Copenhagen. We have been working in a focused manner for some years to expand our business areas in the tourism value chain, and a Tivoli Hotel which is more in the family class, but also accommodates the business segment, harmonises well with our strategy to make Tivoli a year-round business,” says Lars Liebst, CEO of Tivoli. Opened for the first time back in 1843, Denmark’s Tivoli celebrated its 170th anniversary last year. (eap)
