Disney’s Animal Kingdom Turns Ten

“A decade of wild animals and wild places” was the motto of the celebrations for the ten-year anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park on 22 April 2008. The nature conservation efforts of Disney’s theme park were a focal point during the festivities. Numerous activities, exhibits and presentations geared to the subject of nature conservation are currently planned. Since opening ten years ago, the notion of nature preservation has been a major emphasis of the park. This is why guests have the opportunity here to gain in-depth insights into the habitats of the animals with all of their beauty and danger. All together, over 1,000 animals live at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. And the huge, accessible “Tree of Life” at the heart of the park has become a symbol of the Animal Kingdom. (eap)
