Dispute over Noise Level at Heide Park Concluded by Courts

Both visitors and professionals look forward to the opening of Heide Park Resort’s new wing coaster attraction “Flight of the Demons” by the start of the 2014 season in a few weeks. Shortly before the completion of the attraction, a complaint against the building permit of the rollercoaster as well as the show tent featuring the “Madagascar” show was received by the local courts. According to media reports, the action against the two attractions was brought before court by Heide Park founder and former owner, Hans Jürgen Tiemann, who had sold the park to the Tussauds Group by the end of 2001. The reason for his complaint: noise disturbance. Tiemann had a house erected next to the park premises in the 1980s. Last Thursday, the claim was rejected by the courts on the ground that the noise limits of 65 decibels are currently not being exceeded. The court ruled out any further appeals. (eap)
