Dorney Park to Receive Dive Coaster “Iron Menace” in 2024
(eap) The American Dorney Park near Philadelphia has announced the arrival of a new roller coaster scheduled to open next year. The park, which belongs to the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, will receive a Dive Coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard. On the train ride, riders will be suspended 160 feet (about 49 meters) before coming to a stop at 152 feet (46 meters) and plummeting down at a 95-degree drop.
© Dorney Park/Cedar Fair Entertainment Company During the 2,169 feet (approx. 660 meter) long track, the coaster is expected to reach speeds of 64 mph (around 103 km/h) and go through four inversions, including a Tilted Loop and a Corkscrew. The theming around the new coaster called “Iron Menace” tells the story of a profitable steel mill operator who created a massive machine – Iron Menace – to further maximize his profit. Then suddenly, the greedy steel baron disappeared without a trace and guests are taken on a journey through the abandoned steel mill… ■
