(eap) Last November, Greg Yong, CEO of Australian Dreamworld theme park, announced investments of more than AUD $50 million (approx. EUR 30 million) in the construction of new attractions and the overhaul of existing areas. Most recently, there have now been some updates on the new developments. The park proudly announced that the foundations of the new wave swinger “The Dreamworld Flyer” have been raised, so nothing should stand in the way of an opening at the end of this year. The wave swinger offers 60 seats, is equipped with over 3,000 LED lights and will soon adorn the park’s entrance area. In addition to the wave swinger from Italian company Preston & Barbieri, a new water playground and a kid-friendly coaster called “The Wiggles Big Red Boat Coaster” from Zamperla are scheduled to open later this year. Already in operation since recently is “The Wiggles Big Red Planes”, also an attraction for the youngest, as well as the “Dreamland Parents Centre”, a building where families can come to rest and escape the heat in the peak of summer.

“It’s been incredibly exciting to see how quickly construction work in the park is progressing. Our Dreamworld Flyer is just one piece of the puzzle, with guests already enjoying our Big Red Planes ride in Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland, and the anticipation for our new Seabed Splash Pad and The Wiggles Big Red Coaster is simply electric! We are so dedicated to bringing an incredible new experience for both our locals, and our visiting guests, and this is just the beginning in a very exciting journey this year!” says Attractions Manager Deborah Bowles.

More attraction openings are on the schedule for late next year. Then, with “Rivertown”, a new themed area will open, occupying the site of the existing “ABC KIDS” and “The Wiggles World” areas. The highlight here: a new family roller coaster from Vekoma worth AUD 35 million (around EUR 21 million) and called “Jungle Rush”. In addition, the existing attraction “Vintage Cars” will be redesigned and renamed “Murrissippi Motors”.
