EuroParcs Continues Investing in Camping Facility at Lake Bigge
After the Dutch EuroParcs Group succeeded in entering the German market with the acquisition of the Biggesee-Waldenburg camping facility in 2021, modernization and expansion works are progressing well. The first properties at the Waldenburg Bay are now up for sale. “We are delighted to take another important step in the German market with the launch of sales at EuroParcs Biggesee. The idyllic surroundings and our diverse range of offers make the vacation park attractive to both, prospective buyers and vacation guests,” announces Stefan Thurau, Managing Director of EuroParcs Germany.
The emerging recreation facility in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park, in the southwest of North Rhine-Westphalia, is said to be particularly captivating thanks to its location directly on the shores of Lake Bigge. Passenger boat trips are offered here from mid-April to October. In addition, various water sports such as sailing, stand-up paddling, rowing, fishing and diving can be practiced. Besides that, the area is ideal for hiking and biking tours and is also appealing during the colder months – three winter sports areas, one of which is only 20-minutes away, are located in the immediate vicinity.
The modernization of the vacation park is scheduled to be completed by 2026/2027. In the first construction phase, 42 houses for four to eight guests each are to be built, which can already be purchased. In the further course, modern tree houses, glamping tents, camping pitches and a wide range of sports, play and leisure facilities will be created. For the redesign of the vacation resort, EuroParcs is working closely with the town and municipal authorities of the nearby Hanseatic town of Attendorn. (eap)
