Europe’s First PEPPA PIG Park Celebrates Its Premiere in Günzburg
(eap) Two days before the official opening of Europe’s first PEPPA PIG Park in Günzburg, Germany, media representatives and kindergarten children from the region were able to take a first look at the new “oinktastic” park centred around the famous pink piglet today. The new park, which is just a few steps away from the LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort, offers five rides suitable for small children as well as seven themed playgrounds on an area of 1.6 hectares. These include the world’s first “LEGO® DUPLO® PEPPA PIG Play Zone”, where young guests can re-enact “Peppa’s” adventures and invent their own stories with Lego Duplo bricks.
Scott O’Neil, CEO of Merlin Entertainments, is proud to celebrate the opening of the park in Günzburg as the tenth implementation of the Peppa Pig license in a Merlin attraction: “We are honoured to be entrusted time and time again to bring the world’s most iconic brands to life in branded entertainment destinations. Having Hasbro’s Peppa Pig and her loving family come to Günzburg is our opportunity to bring joy, create connections and preserve memories for families with young children across Europe. We are grateful for Manuela Stone and her incredible team and Hasbro for their partnership. Furthermore, we thank children, friends and families for their passion and trust in Merlin. They are the ones who bring the park to life through their play and laughter. Our joy with Peppa Pig and the iconic brand grows every time we develop new Peppa Pig attractions, be it inner-city attractions like PEPPA PIG World of Play to theme parks like the Peppa Pig parks in Germany, Florida and the Dallas location we will open next.”
Manuela Stone, Managing Director of Peppa Pig Park and Legoland Germany, is proud of this European premiere: “We are delighted with the trust Merlin Entertainments has placed in our location. The Peppa Pig Park is a wonderful new attraction for our guests and the Günzburg region. Just a few weeks ago, I was standing right here in the middle of a building site wearing a pink construction helmet. All the teams involved in the construction, whether external or internal, have been working hard so that we can open this wonderful park for pre-school children and their families just in time for the start of the Whitsun vacations. Many thanks to everyone for their efforts. It has become a unique Peppa World that looks like it’s straight out of the show.”
