France: Johnny Depp Discovers the Novelties of the „Pirates of the Caribbean“ Attraction
In due time for the 25th anniversary of Disneyland Paris, the popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” attraction sees a general make-over so it will shine in new glitter again on the day of its re-opening on July 24th. Johnny Depp could already enjoy an exclusive foretaste of the water rides’ novelties during the European film premiere of the new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales” movie (2017), taking the opportunity to visit his alter ego “Captain Jack Sparrow” at the park. The first pirate attraction, which has inspired the movie blockbusters and gave the idea for several scene sections and sceneries, opened in 1967 at Disneyland Park in Anaheim/CA, since 1992 it is also part of Euro Disney. Also, visitors to the Disney parks in Orlando, Tokyo and to Shanghai Disneyland can enjoy this highlight attraction.
Our next July/August edition will feature an article on “25th Years of Disneyland Paris”, focusing on the challenges for Euro Disney of the past and providing you with an outlook to what’s coming across the horizon. (eap)
