Further Changes on Top Management Level at Universal
Following the recent announcement by Universal that Tom Williams will retire from his long-year position as Chairman and CEO of Universal Parks & Resorts and be succeeded by Mark Woodbury as of 1 January 2022 (cf. EAP News of 18 Nov 2021) and that Woodbury‘s current position as President of Universal Creative will be taken over by Mike Hightower, the Orlando Business Journal, among others, now reports on the next changes at the top management level of the group.
Accordingly, Bill Davis, who has served as President of Universal Orlando Resort for the past 15 years, will also retire in the new year. His successor will be Karen Irwin, who has been President of the sister park Universal Studios Hollywood in California since 2017 (cf. EAP News of 13 Jan 2017). Once Irwin takes up her new post in Florida, Universal executive Tom Mehrmann will preside over both the Universal resort in Beijing, which opened this year (cf. EAP News of 20 Sept 2021), and the theme park destinations in Japan and California via the newly created position of President of Universal Parks & Resorts Pacific Rim. (eap)
