GB: Barbara Thompson Passes Away at the Age of 82

On 27 July 2021, Barbara Thompson (née Foxcroft), a director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, passed away at her home in Lytham, England, aged 82. As the wife of park founder grandson Geoffrey Thompson († 2004), Barbara Thompson played an active role in shaping the long-established amusement park in the north of the country, which had been in existence since 1896, and continued here dedication even after her husband’s death together with her children, who manage the park today. Volunteering and social commitment were always important to her; she was an active member of the British charity organization The Lord's Taverners for youth cricket and disabled sports. Barbara Thompson leaves her three children Amanda, Nick and Fiona and eight grandchildren.
