Germany: Cologne-based Start-up Company CaptiVR Introduces On-Ride Souvenir Videos
Among the most popular souvenirs that guests love to take home after their park visit are snapshots taken of them on rollercoaster rides and attractions. The Cologne-based start-up company of CaptiVR aims at revolutionizing this kind of souvenir product and thus developed a system of 360-degree cameras that is mounted onto rides so that visitors can receive their personal on-ride video. The individual film can be downloaded via an app and directly shared with others on social media.
“Whether in the car, at the gym or at an amusement park, the attractiveness of analog offerings is usually enhanced today by digital by-products. With our system, we are targeting attraction operators and amusement parks owners who, with our support and the know-how of our experts, wish to take another big step towards the digitalization of their world of experiences,“ explains Oliver Rapp, co-founder and General Manager of CaptiVR.
The solution is a closed system consisting of cameras, data transfer, upload functionality and social media interfaces that can also be installed on already existing attractions and rollercoasters. Co-General Manager Oliver Scholz comments: „We have already proven in practice that we can integrate our solution in early planning phases and as well install it in rides of all kinds afterwards.
