Germany: Holiday Park Haßloch Announces Tomorrowland-Themed Area for 2024
Even before the start of the 2022 season, Holiday Park Haßloch just announced a real bombshell for 2024 – the park, which belongs to the Plopsa Group, will develop an entirely new themed area dedicated to the Belgian electro-festival “Tomorrowland”. “We are very proud to be able to expand our range of attractions in Germany together with Tomorrowland. With the expertise of our own designers and the creative minds of the Tomorrowland festival, we will create a top-class attraction and themed area at Holiday Park,” explains Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of the Plopsa Group. Bruno Vanwelsenaers, CEO of Tomorrowland, adds: “We are very proud of this new cooperation. Germany is one of our biggest “People of Tomorrow” countries and we feel a lot of love from our neighboring country. Thanks to this partnership, many people can get to know Tomorrowland and we can continue to expand the experience.”
The new area will be built around the Holiday Park lake, where visitors have been able to experience the water ski stunt show for the past 30 years, but which will now not be resumed after a two-and-a-half-year pandemic-related shutdown. “We are very grateful for everyone who has attended the water ski stunt show over the past 30 years. We’ve had the honor of working with many people from different countries,” says Van den Kerkhof, adding “But today, after two years of downtime, it’s too difficult to restart the show, despite all our efforts.” Overall, a total of 15 million Euros will be invested in the development of the new area.
Construction on the area and the main attraction is scheduled to begin this year. Whether this could also be an Xtreme spinning coaster, comparable to the "Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland" opened last year in the Belgian sister park Plopsaland de Panne (see EAP 4/2021), is not confirmed by the park at this point.
