Germany: Movie Park Germany Opens „The Walking Dead®“ Attraction
Movie Park Germany recently opened its new “The Walking Dead Breakout” walk through, which revolves around the successful “The Walking Dead®” TV series of the US cable television channel AMC (cf. EAP news from March 8th, 2016). The new walk through is the park’s reaction to a high visitor demand for a permanent horror attraction besides the annual “Halloween Horror Fest” at Movie Park Germany. “The Walking Dead Breakout” is located at Studio 7 on an area of 700 square meters and invisible from the outside. In differentially themed spaces according to the TV series the undead “walkers” are already waiting to frighten the visitors. The conceptual design has been developed in collaboration with the Dutch comany Jora Entertainment. Until the construction works’ completion, a total of 1,400 square meters of wood panels, 4.5 kilometers of wooden beams and around 500 liters of wall color have been used. “There are more than 15 authentic and detailed internal spaces, which are chronologically based on the TV seasons. […] They have been realized in close cooperation with AMC and the German pay-TV channel FOX,” explained Thorsten Backhaus, Managing Director Movie Park Germany. Visitors who are at least 16 years old can experience “The Walking Dead Breakout” for an additional price of five Euros. (eap)
