Germany: Movie Park to Open Permanent Horror Attraction
Movie Park Germany’s popular “Halloween Horror Fest”, which takes place each year in October, is one of Europe’s biggest Halloween events. Due to the strong demand, the Bottrop-based amusement park will open a permanent horror attraction in the course of this year. “We recorded a high demand and reacted to it. The development of this new attraction is part of our strategy to provide an offer for families and to offer teens an exciting day at the park as well,” says Movie Park’s General Manager Thorsten Backhaus.
“The Walking Dead Breakout”, a walk through that won’t be visible from the outside, will be located in the park’s Studio 7. Covering an area of more than 700 square meters, the live experience will be based on the US TV series “The Walking Dead®” and realized in close cooperation with the US TV channel AMC and the German pay TV channel FOX. The theming of the attraction’s rooms will be adapted to the different TV seasons. Featuring faithful settings, real actors and the latest in technology, The Walking Dead Breakout will offer an authentic, intensive and bloody live experience. The attraction will be accessible for an extra fee of five euros for visitors aged 16 or older. (eap)
