Due to its 26 million Euros extensive renovation works and the reopening that followed in 2005, Germany’s Nettebad Osnabrück ranks, according to its own statement, among the best-visited swimming pool facilities in Germany, counting around 745,000 guests annually. Wolfgang Hermle, Stadtwerke Osnabrück’s person in charge of swimming pool complexes, also cites the continuous enlargement of Nettebad’s attractions portfolio as a further reason for the steady increase in visitor numbers. In 2011, for example, the “Sloop” slide was opened (cf. EAP News from December 27, 2011) and at the beginning of 2014 Nettebad introduced its premium fitness offer “X-Force Sports Club” (cf. EAP News from January 16, 2014). “We are pleased with the steadily growing visitor numbers. It is a proof that we made correct and good decisions back in the past”, Nettebad’s director Tilo Schölzel says.

This month the swimming pool complex has welcomed its seven millionth guest since the reopening. Seven-year-old Florian Rüter, who visited Nettebad together with his family, was happy about the surprise package Schölzel and Hermle handed over to him. (eap)
